It's June!

Oh hey, happy June, my friends! It’s the beginning of the month, which is such an amazing time to take a moment and jot down your intentions for the month. I find writing out my goals to be incredibly motivating, and it really helps me actually complete what I want to do because the competitive side of me would hate not checking something off my list if I said I would. Here are my specific intentions for the month if you need some inspiration!

My friend Ella always makes these fun little graphics showing what’s in season each month. So take some inspo and grab a handful of these during your next grocery run!

I’m here with this week's cycle-aligned meal plan too - we are having a cycle-sync’d summer, y’all. Here’s to our hormones feeling balanced, skin feeling clear, energy feeling high, and mood feeling stable - you know that’s right!

Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5)

Breakfast: Apple Cinnamon Chia Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1/2 cup chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 apple, diced

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix almond milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

  2. Refrigerate overnight.

  3. Top with diced apple and almond butter before serving.

* This usually makes me breakfast for 2 days! Feel free to double the recipe if you want it for more :)

Let’s break it down!

Chia seeds are packed with nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, and various vitamins and minerals. Omega-3 fatty acids in chia seeds are known to have anti-inflammatory effects, which can be helpful in alleviating menstrual cramps. The combination of chia seeds and apples provides a steady release of energy, helping to combat fatigue that often accompanies menstruation. The healthy fats, fiber, and protein in chia seeds help stabilize blood sugar levels. Chia pudding is also an excellent source of fiber, which can aid in digestion and help with any potential menstrual-related bloating and digestive issues. The cinnamon in the pudding not only adds flavor but also has warming and soothing properties, which can be soothing to digestion and cramping during this phase!
