Happy Sunday my friends!!
Sundays are my nervous system’s favorite day of the week
They’ve become sacred. Not in a rigid, 12-step routine kind of way, but in the way that I honor my body: with intention, softness, and nourishment.
So today, I’m pulling back the curtain and sharing exactly what my ideal Sunday looks like when I want to reset my hormones, calm inflammation, and feel like myself again.
No pressure, no perfection. Just what’s actually helped me feel better in my skin.
MORNING: Wake Slow, Feed Early 🌞
I try not to wake up with an alarm. My phone stays across the room. And I never start the day on Instagram (no offense to the explore page)
Instead, I get sunlight on my face ASAP. It’s one of the most underrated hormone tools: real light, in real time. It tells your body: Hey, we’re safe. It’s morning. Cortisol, rise gently. I’ll either do a few minutes of deep breathing on my balcony or go on a quick loop around the block!
Before I even think about caffeine, I drink a huge glass of filtered water with minerals- usually sea salt or a trace mineral drop.
My matcha ritual is non-negotiable:
Ceremonial matcha, colostrum, macadamia milk, a little cinnamon and honey, and sometimes maca if I’m in my follicular or ovulatory phase. I whisk it slowly and drink it without multitasking :)
Breakfast happens within 60 minutes of waking.
No skipping. No “just coffee.” That used to spike my cortisol and crash my blood sugar by 10am
Here’s what I’ve been reaching for recently, depending on where I am in my cycle:
Follicular/Ovulatory: a creamy berry smoothie with protein, flax, chia, and protein, chia pudding, or a Greek yogurt bowl with seeds and berries
Luteal/Menstrual: almond flour pancakes topped with almond butter and warm cinnamon apples with greek yogurt
MIDDAY: Clean Out, Nourish In
Sundays are not about extremes. I’m not fasting or overexercising. I’m choosing food that feels grounding, cooked, and satisfying.
Lunch is usually something like:
Roasted sweet potatoes
Sautéed leafy greens
Ground turkey or wild salmon
A drizzle of tahini and lemon
If I’m craving something sweet after (always), I’ll have a square of dark chocolate or a date with almond butter
Movement is gentle.
Sunday movement is almost always a big walk for me. I also try to lay my yoga mat out and do some deep stretching and a few minutes of deep breathing. My rule: if I wouldn’t do it while PMSing, I don’t do it on Sundays!
My favorite mid-afternoon rituals:
Dry brushing before the shower
A castor oil pack on my stomach while journaling or watching a comfort show
Organizing my space and closet
AFTERNOON: Reset Without Overwhelm
This is where the “reset” energy kicks in - but without the pressure. I used to overdo it on Sundays trying to meal prep 20 things or reorganize my entire life.
Now, I focus on doing one or two things that supports future me, like:
Making a batch of chia pudding for the week
Grocery run to pick up some proteins, veggies, and fruitd
Cleaning out my purse or fridge
I also do a brain dump: not a to-do list- just a way to get all the buzzing thoughts out of my head. Then I go back and ask: what actually needs to get done this week? Usually half of it doesn’t.
EVENING: Soften, Ground, Close the Loop
Dinner is warm and simple. Think:
Bone broth rice with sautéed greens and salmon
Ground beef tacos with avocado and lime slaw
Roasted carrots and tahini with leftover quinoa and a jammy egg
Nothing raw. Nothing cold. Nothing that takes more than 30 minutes.
Post-dinner wind down:
Blue light glasses go on
Magnesium supplement and spray on my feet
Stretching, legs up the wall, or a little castor oil belly massage
Lavender or vanilla essential oil on my wrists
No screens 30–60 minutes before bed (trying my best lol)
Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I just light a candle and do nothing
Lights out by 10:00. Especially if I’m in my luteal or menstrual phase- when rest is literally medicine.
What I’ve Learned
You don’t heal your hormones through force. You heal them by listening. Sundays are a chance to ask:
What’s off?
What do I need more of?
What can I let go of?
Not every week do I get the chance to check every single one of these off - and that’s okay!! But I do make it a point to accomplish at least three of these rituals each Sunday. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being intentional. So pick a few that speak to you, start where you are, and give your body what it’s craving: a little calm, a little care, and a gentle start to your week!!
xx Paige
This is awesome!! I am inspired 🤩
I love this! And acknowledging that not all of it always gets done and that’s okay and the whole point!
